Former Wales captain Gary Speed thinks drawing England could give the young Welsh side a better chance of qualifying for Euro 2012.
Wales were drawn alongside England, Montenegro, Bulgaria and Switzerland as they aim to qualify for a major tournament for the first time since the 1958 World Cup.
Speed said: "Of course Wales have a chance of beating England. If it was Spain, France, Germany or Italy I wouldn't be so sure.
"But because it's England, and it will be a derby, anything can happen."
Wales last faced England during qualifying for the 2006 World Cup, with Sven Goran Eriksson's men running out 2-0 winners at Old Trafford and 1-0 in Cardiff.
Speed added: "The England games will obviously be big, tough games, and there will be a bit of spice involved as well so you never know what might happen, but we've certainly had tougher groups in the past."
